Supporting tomorrow’s fashion design and costume professionals, today

At Blossom Costumes, we believe in the talent our fashion design industry has to offer within Australia. We also know the future of our industry relies on people like you. People who strive to achieve great things in fashion and choose to inspire through their design and creative arts.

Every year, we support students who demonstrate the skills and attributes to thrive in Fashion & Costume Design. We’re contributing $1,500 towards to help cover course costs, so you can focus on your studies and gain the experience you need to excel. It can also be used to purchase relevant textbooks, research materials and technical equipment.

The Blossom Costumes Scholarship Program provides $1,500 for a selected student each year.

Who can apply?

To apply for the Blossom Costumes Scholarship Program, you need to be:

   1. 18 years or older
   2. An Australian citizen or permanent resident
   3. An undergraduate, diploma or advanced diploma student in the field of Fashion Design or Costume Design

We appreciate a diverse range of experiences and skillsets and as such we encourage all eligible students to apply.

How is the scholarship recipient chosen?

All submissions entered will be reviewed by the team at Blossom Costumes. Selected entries will then be shortlisted before a recipient is chosen based upon our selection criteria.

To enter, answer the following question:

Entries should be no more than 500 words in length and need to be received by December 31, 2019.

How do see the current state of the industry of fashion design? Furthermore, what are the biggest challenges it faces and what does the industry need to ensure a brighter future?

Applicants should demonstrate:

   1. Knowledge of fashion fundamentals
   2. Innovation and forward-thinking
   3. Creativity in a compelling fashion
   4. Strong research skills
   5. Succinct presentation of information

The entry that best demonstrates the above will be deemed the winner and will be awarded the scholarship. How you answer the question is up to you. We favour inventive or outside-the-box thinking – so present a novel, compelling, well-researched answer.
