Whatever your cosplay dream, we've got your Supernova costume sorted.
One of Australia's largest annual comic con and gaming events, Supernova has been running in Australia for nearly two decades. A pop culture fandom phenomenon, Supernova is also one of Australia's biggest cosplay (costume role play) events.
Tickets are now on sale for June's Sydney and Perth Supernova events, with tickets to follow for Adelaide and Brisbane's November shows.
With a mere month to go until Supanova's national tour, if you haven't begun brainstorming your solo or group cosplay outfit, consider this your reminder to clear your diary for the weekend—you've got work to do.
If you're looking for costume inspiration, check out some of our favourite Supernova outfits below.
Black Widow
Don't worry—this blog is strictly spoiler-free.
The hype around the final instalment of Marvel's Cinematic Universe is undeniably justified. The 22nd film in the MCU arc, the film has attracted critical acclaim and broken several box offices records in its opening month.
Black Widow is one of the most consistently integral characters in the MCU, and her role in Endgame is no different.
If you've seen cosplay from the likes of @ggsnail and you're looking to replicate a similar slick look, check out our MCU-specific, Avengers 2 Black Widow cosplay.
The full jumpsuit comes with attached knee pads, wrist guards and a belt. Black knee-high boots and a Black Widow red wig will complete the look.
Spiderman
Another MCU favourite after more than his fair share of remakes and sequels, critics and Marvel fans generally agree that Tom Holland strikes a notable balance between boyish charm, teenage emotion and a healthy dose of heroism, in comparison to previous Spider(men).
If you're looking to follow in the footsteps of your favourite friendly, neighbourhood Spiderman, you can take inspiration from this upgraded Spidey suit, otherwise dubbed the "Iron Spider Suit" after Iron Man.
Featuring gold metallic arms that rise from the back of the suit, if you're looking to DIY your own Spiderman suit, you can start with this Spiderman Infinity War outfit before customising it as you see fit.
Batman & Harley Quinn
Not your usual couple costume, be outrageous enough to pair Gotham's favourite anti-hero with our favourite villain like these two Supernova attendees.
Our personal favourite Batman is moody and muscular, featuring the tones from Batman Vs Superman Dawn of Justice. This Harley Quinn outfit is an officially licensed DC cosplay, meaning that you're getting the real deal. Pair it with these Harley Quinn Suicide Squad boots and your favourite wig.
With your outfits done and dusted, you can worry about the next important thing—organising the panels you're going to see on the day.
Breaking Bad
Anyone can throw on Walter White's signature yellow chemist suit (or just some bad jocks), but the real magic happens when you apply your cosplay makeup skills. Focus on ageing your face a couple of decades, and grab this Breaking Bad costume as your cosplay base.
Wolverine
Wolverine is always a great cosplay character—because you essentially just need accessories and then you're good to roll, depending on what timeline your chosen Wolverine is hanging out in.
For inspiration, check out this cosplayer who dons red flannel, Wolverine's signature brown leather jacket and accessories. Pick up all your Wolverine accessories in this package which includes black sideburns, a Wolverine dog tag, and silver coloured claws on clear plastic that straps to your hands via elastic bands.
Pokemon
We aspire to this level of commitment when it comes to Eevee evolutions. While we don't have a costume quite like this one, we do have this women's cosplay Pikachu costume to get you on the right track with your outfit.
Wonder Woman
There were plenty of Wonder Women hanging around Melbourne's Supernova event, so to spark your costume inspiration, we've got the most deluxe, detailed Diana Prince outfit.
If you have any questions or queries about the outfit you're eyeing or sizing, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We'd love to help!
