There's a little hero in everyone
There's been a shift in the nerd community in the last few decades. Big Bang Theory has the highest paid actor in Hollywood, with Jim Parsons playing the delightfully awkward and equally big-hearted ultra-nerd and physicist Sheldon Cooper. Comic books and anime have become mainstream. DC is cool.
Millennials and Generation X's have caused an undeniable shift in geek culture—for the better.

1. Aquaman
King of Atlantis and recently played by the six-pack, Trident-wielding Jason Momoa, you won't leave anyone guessing in an Aquaman costume. You can pick up a signature suit complete with 3D boots, 3D gauntlets and a built-in eight pack (in case you haven't had time to get the gains).
To round out the costume, we have a range of Trident's available (please don't run with them), and wigs in case your natural locks don't quite match up to those of Jason Momoa.
Bonus couples/friends outfit: While Aquaman does have a missus (#spoilers it's Mera in case you haven't seen the film yet), we recommend couple-ing up this outfit with your bae or best mate as a giant sea creature. Think of the Instagram pictures.
2. Wonder Woman
Wonderfully played by Gal Gadot in the recent remake, Diana is princess of the Amazons and an unconquerable warrior. No a bad choice for your next Saturday night. There is a wide-range of head-to-toe Wonder Woman outfits from intricately deluxe to classic; and comic book-style to dresses.
We're never ones to do anything half-heartedly, so there's also Diana's signature lasso (this gold one happens to light up), wigs and boots.
Bonus couples/friends outfit: If you're planning on going as a duo, Wonder Woman is commonly associated with Steve Trevor (as depicted in the DC films). A standard military get-up will get you head nods, or go all in and find a pale white turtle neck, brown leather jacket, brown boots and leather gloves.
3. The Flash
The preferred superhero of Big Bang's Sheldon Cooper, The Flash is gifted with superhuman speed. He can run at ten times the speed of light, after he was struck by a bolt of lightning.
If you can't think of anything better than dressing up in a giant red suit and sprinting up to people yelling, "I'm the Flash!", you've come to the right place, friend.

4. Deadpool

5. Catwoman
A classic for any Halloween or costume party, save yourself finding head-to-toe leather and order a pre-made Catwoman costume. With over eight variations featuring different detailing and styles, you're guaranteed to find the ideal feline outfit. Don't forget to add on a Dark Knight rises-style mask, or fashion one at home.

6. Joker
DC's most recognisable villain, the Joker has a few small outfit variations from Suicide Squad's Joker to the Dark Knight Rise's version. For inspiration, or if you've forgotten about this weekend's costume party, check out this range of Joker costumes. Unless you're happy to dye your locks green, you'll also want to pick up a wig.
Bonus couples/friends outfit: Find another partner in crime by getting a mate to dress up as Harley Quinn. From blue and red hair to half-n-half blue and red tees, it might be easier to grab a costume online rather than DIY this one.
