Halloween costume trends The best part of Halloween for us is always seeing all the amazing Halloween costume that people put together. Pop culture was a big trend for Halloween costumes again in 2016. Harley Quinn costumes based on the character design in Suicide Squad were extremely popular, but there were also plenty of people rocking the classic comic book Harley Quinn look. Star Wars was another very popular franchise this year after the release of The Force Awakens. There were plenty of Rey and Kylo Ren costumes as well as the old favourites like Darth Vader and Chewy. Marvel Halloween costumes continued to be very popular in 2016. Deadpool was a big one after the movie's success. Doctor Strange also made his first cinema and costume appearance in 2016. Of course, all the most popular Avengers were well represented, as always. Pokemon Go was a phenomenon that came out of nowhere in 2016 and a lot of people decided to dress up as a Pokemon trainer or their favourite Pokemon for Halloween. No Halloween would be complete without a few of the iconic Halloween costumes. BeetlejuiceEdward Scissorhands, and Jack Skellington all had a strong showing in 2016, as they do every year. Everybody loves the classics. Finally, there was no shortage of good old-fashioned scary Halloween costumes. Zombies were as popular as always and could be seen shambling down the streets searching for brains. Scary clowns were also very popular this year.
